Collision Investigation

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit continues to investigate a collision that occurred early this morning on Deerfoot Trail.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., today, Monday, May 25, 2015, a silver 2008 Pontiac G6 was travelling southbound on Deerfoot Trail. As the car neared Peigan Trail, it drove off the roadway to the right and onto the soft shoulder where it struck the sloped end of the barrier on the right shoulder. The soft ground caused the car to tip and roll over, landing on the roadway.

The 36-year-old female driver was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition. She has since been upgraded to serious but stable condition.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time, however, the investigation continues.
