Clarification of ASIRT release

In an effort to clarify an earlier press release issued by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), please note the Calgary Police Service proactively requested an independent review into previous interactions between officers and Colton Crowshoe, as well as the missing person investigation.

This request was made to the Director of Law Enforcement on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, in order to ensure full transparency and public confidence of the case and CPS actions.

Because this matter is under review by ASIRT, no further comment will be made by CPS. The homicide investigation into Crowshoe’s death continues. Updates will be given as they become available.
