Charges laid in pedestrian fatality

The Calgary Police Service has charged one person in relation to a fatal pedestrian collision.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, a 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up truck driven by a 66-year-old male, was traveling east on 17 Avenue S.E. The driver struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the street at 52 Street S.E.

The pedestrian was thrown approximately 20 meters from the intersection and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

William Edward GRIMM, 66, is charged with impaired driving causing death and impaired driving over .08 causing death.
