Charges in Weekend Stabbing

The Calgary Police Service has laid several charges in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the city’s southwest on the weekend.

On Sunday, June 9, 2013, just after 2:40 a.m., police were called to the 2200 block of Woodview Dr. S.W., for reports of a stabbing.

It is believed an altercation took place in a parking lot between two men. One man later returned and located a group of males, including the man from the earlier altercation and confronted him again. During the confrontation, the man was stabbed.

After stabbing the victim, the suspect fled the area and was later arrested without incident.

The victim was taken to hospital by friends in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Perry Basil James ACORN, 32, of Calgary, has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
