Charges in weekend shooting incident

The Calgary Police Service has laid charges against two men as a result of an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Friday.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2015, police were called by residents in the area of the 5600 block of 8 Avenue S.E. for reports that three vehicles were driving down an ally while the occupants shot at each other. Upon arrival, the vehicles were not found, however, officers located numerous shell casings in the area.

The investigation continues and officers are still hoping to speak with the occupants of the dark blue four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler 330, which had cardboard covering the passenger side back window.

Bader Eddin AMER, 20, of Calgary, has been charged with assault and possession of a prohibited weapon. He appeared in court today, Monday, June 15, 2015.

Talal Mohamad AMER, 22, of Calgary, has been charged with four counts of firearms offences and three counts of drug-related offences. He appeared in court today, Monday, June 15, 2015.
