Charges in Graffiti Vandalism

The Joint Graffiti Investigative Team has laid more than 250 charges against two men in relation to graffiti vandalism resulting in approximately $55,000 worth of property damage.

The charges are the result of a lengthy investigation into graffiti vandalism in northwest Calgary that occurred on both private and public property between January and November 2013.

Joshua HALLAM, 19, of Calgary, has been charged with 108 counts of mischief to property under $5,000. HALLAM will next appear in court on Monday, March 3, 2014.

Marshall MACHARDY, 19, of Calgary, has been charged with 159 counts of mischief to property under $5,000. MACHARDY will next appear in court on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

The Joint Graffiti Investigative Team is a multi-agency group of officers from the Calgary Police Service, The City of Calgary Animal & Bylaw Services and Calgary Transit Public Safety & Enforcement, that focuses on investigating graffiti vandalism and graffiti offenders in Calgary.
