Charges in fatal hit-and-run

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a fatal hit-and-run.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015, officers responded to a call of a female victim found deceased in the centre lane of 16 Avenue and 5 Street N.E.

The 16-year-old woman sustained injuries that are consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

A combination of CCTV footage along with evidence from the scene led investigators to determine that the woman was struck by a taxi.  GPS technology used by the taxi company assisted officers in identifying the suspect.  

Stanislaw MAGUDER, 70, of Calgary is charged with hit-and-run causing death.
