Charge Laid in Homicide Investigation

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a suspicious death that occurred yesterday.

Just after 1 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, police were called to an address in the 1500 block of 28 Avenue S.W. for reports of an unwanted guest. A man in his 40s was found suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital where he was declared deceased upon arrival.

An autopsy is expected to take place Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015. The victim’s identity will be released pending confirmation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Another man, who was in the home at the time of the incident, was taken into custody. Bart Dwight MILLER, 49, has been charged with manslaughter. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015.

This is Calgary’s fourth homicide of 2015.
