Calgary Police Service to participate in Global Police Tweet-a-Thon

Ever wonder what a day is like at the Calgary Police Service? Tomorrow, you can take to Twitter to find out.

Police in Calgary will join agencies from around the world to participate in a tweet-a-thon to bring attention to police work and the use of social media by law enforcement.

Nearly 100 law enforcement agencies from Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, Iceland and Australia will be taking part.

The CPS is planning to tweet selected real time events between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Friday, March 22, 2013. Events to be tweeted will be determined at the discretion of a police officer. All tweets will provide only a general location and details of the call, in order to protect the privacy of those involved.

Anyone interested in following the tweet-a-thon can follow @CalgaryPolice on Twitter. Additionally, agencies across the world will all tweet using the same hashtag, #poltwt.

The CPS is excited to join law enforcement agencies around the world in this social media event and invite the citizens of Calgary to follow along.
