Calgary Police Service helps Toy Angels provide a Merry Christmas for thousands of children

Members of the Calgary Police Service are delivering thousands of toys to The Salvation Army today that will put smiles on the faces of children in need.

Encana and the Calgary Police Service joined radio station LITE 95.9 and The Salvation Army for the 19th annual Toy Angels; Calgary’s largest toy drive that collects and distributes new, unwrapped toys to less fortunate families during the holiday season.

Toy donation displays were set up at sponsor locations starting on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, including a number of shopping malls, stores, CPS district offices and the Westwinds Campus.

Donations from CPS facilities as well as toys gathered during the Encana Family Event in support of Toy Angels were collected at the Westwinds Campus.

Media are invited to attend as CPS members, and representatives from the other partner agencies, load this year’s collection of toys into trucks to be taken to The Salvation Army warehouse. The loading will begin at 12 p.m., today, Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, in the lobby of the CPS Headquarters Westwinds Campus East Building, located at 5111 47 St. N.E.
