Calgary Police Service Class 203 Recruit Graduation

Former members of Alberta Sheriffs, military police, Public Safety Communications, the daughter of two Calgary police members, and a former Boston Red Sox member, are just some of the newest members of the Calgary Police Service receiving their badge this afternoon.

Recruit Class #203 will be on display today, Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at a special ceremony at Mewata Armoury, 801 11 St. S.W. The event begins at 1 p.m.

The diverse group of 22 graduates has successfully completed five months of intense training and will now hit the streets as the Service’s newest constables.

Following graduation, the CPS members will be assigned to work with Police Training Officers for the final 15-week phase of their basic learning.

The recruits will run through a series of drills and will be addressed by Chief Rick Hanson, before receiving their badges. Nine individual awards will also be presented to members of the graduating class.
