The 31^st annual Calgary Police Rodeo will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Airdrie Pro Rodeo Grounds in support of the Missing Children Society of Canada CodeSearch program.

 

CodeSearch is a rapid response program, the first of its kind in Canada that engages the corporate community in supporting efforts of the Missing Children Society of Canada and Calgary Police Service in the search of missing or abducted children.

 

Detective Mike Cavilla, President of the Calgary Police Rodeo Association, says “this event is an opportunity to spend the day together and have an impact on the ongoing success of the CodeShare program.  Sharing information with the broad community is vital in maximizing the likelihood that a child is located and safely returned to his or her family.”

 

“Every new partner that joins CodeSearch brings us closer to stopping child abduction” says Amanda Pick, Executive Director, Missing Children Society of Canada. “The support we receive from the Calgary Police Rodeo plays a pivotal role in ensuring the longevity of this program.” 

 

Grounds open at 8 a.m. with a children’s carnival, petting zoo and wagon rides. The rodeo begins at 1 p.m., followed by the Calgary Police Rodeo barn dance at 8 p.m. featuring Nashville recording artist Drew Gregory.

 

The Airdrie Pro Rodeo Grounds are located approximately 10 kilometers west of Highway 2 on Highway 567, on the north side of Airdrie.

 

Please join members of the Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services for a great day of family fun and rodeo excitement in support of a great cause.
