Calgary Police responding to serious assault in Saddle Ridge

The Calgary Police Service is investigation a serious assault that occurred this morning in Saddle Ridge.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Saddlemead Green N.E. due to a report that someone in the home was being assaulted. Upon arrival, police found an adult female with serious injuries. The victim was transported to hospital where they remain in critical, life threatening condition.

Police do not have a suspect in custody, however at this time it is not believed the attack was random. The nearby Light of Christ School was also placed into lockdown as a precaution, but the lockdown has since been lifted.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no other information available at this time.
