Calgary Police lay numerous charges against break-in suspects

The Calgary Police Service has laid almost 70 charges against two individuals believed to be responsible for multiple break and enters in Calgary and southern Alberta.

 

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, a resident living on Evergreen Way S.W. reported a break and enter, and was able to provide a detailed description of the suspects a vehicle that was seen leaving the scene. This information led police to a residence on Coville Circle N.E. where a search warrant was executed and two males were arrested.

 

Over 400 items of suspected stolen property were seized during the search warrant. These items included jewelry, computers, collectables, other electronics, sports equipment, safes, and military medals.  Officers also seized fentanyl, marihuana, heroin, and oxycodone and two firearms with ammunition.

 

The total value of property is believed to be well over $100,000 and the value of the drugs is estimated to be approximately $18,000.

 

Investigators have worked closely with the RCMP to link the recovered property to over 30 residential break and enters that occurred in Calgary and the surrounding area between 2003 and 2015. While many of the stolen items have been returned to their owners, police are still trying to locate the owners of hundreds of items.

Kelly John WILLS, 33, of Calgary is charged with three counts of house break and enter and commit theft, two counts of unsafe storage of firearms, one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000; 26 counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, four counts of breaching a court order, one count of obstructing a Peace Officer and three counts of possess controlled substance.

 

Randy James LORRAIN, 32, of Calgary is charged with two counts of personation to avoid prosecution, one count of house break and enter and commit theft, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and 24 counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was also arrested on 11 outstanding warrants on unrelated matters.
