Body Identified as Missing Woman

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the body of the woman found east of Airdrie has been identified.

Shortly before 4 p.m., on Monday, May 4, 2015, a work crew discovered a body in the ditch of the area of Range Road 285 and Township Road 264. The Airdrie RCMP responded and secured the immediate area for investigation.

The woman has been identified as Jessica Rae NEWMAN, 24, of Calgary. Cause of death will not be released at this time, however, the manner of death has been determined to be homicide.

NEWMAN was last seen in the Forest Lawn area on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The investigation into her disappearance and subsequent death is still ongoing.
