Arrest in sexual assault case

The Calgary Police Service has arrested and charged a man in relation to an incident that occurred on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
 
On Friday, March 1, 2013, the CPS released information on the incident, asking for information from the public.
 
On Saturday, March 2, 2013, officers arrested a 20-year-old man at his home, without incident.
 
He is facing one charge of sexual assault.
 
The CPS thanks the public and the media for their assistance with this investigation.

Seeking public assistance – sexual assault
 
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a man who may have information about a recent sexual assault.
 
At approximately 3:20 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, a 14-year-old girl was standing with a group of friends in the 5300 block of 26 Avenue S.W. when they were approached by an unknown man.
 
The man made comments to the girl that were sexual in nature before touching her breast. He then turned and walked away.
 
The girl contacted police and District 2 officers began to investigate.
 
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 to 30 years old, 6’ tall with a slim build. He had some facial hair growth, slurred speech or a possible impediment, bad teeth and was drooling. He was wearing sunglasses, a red jacket, blue jeans and colourful Nike runners.
