Applewood Park break-ins

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in several night-time home break-ins that have occurred in the community of Applewood Park over the last few weeks.

In each of these incidents the offender gained entry into the homes by prying or forcing doors, removing kitchen window screens and entering through basement windows. In two incidents, entry was gained through second floor windows. 

Once inside, jewelry, cash and personal documents including passports have been taken. 

In one incident, on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m., the suspects entered a residence in the 0-100 block of Appleside Close S.E. by prying the back door. Once inside, the keys to a silver, 2008 Honda Odyssey were taken. The vehicle, with Alberta license plate NWA989, was stolen from the detached garage.

The Calgary Police Service would like to remind residents to lock their doors and secure their windows at all times.  This includes locking deadbolts on doors and installing security bars on basement windows. Making note of serial numbers, models and brands of jewellery and electronics, as well as identifiable markings or engravings, will assist with identification purposes.
