2015 Chief's Awards Gala

The Calgary Police Service Chief’s Awards Gala 2015 will take place tonight, Thursday, June 4, 2015, to honour people who have gone to extraordinary measures to save lives and better our community.

Chief Paul Cook will be presenting awards to 19 people (four citizens from Calgary, one citizen from Trail, B.C., one employee from Calgary Transit, one employee from Calgary Parks and 12 Calgary Police Service members) at the Gala.

Civilian recipient stories range from apprehending an armed suspect, attempting to save the life of a man critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Deerfoot Trail, to saving a woman from severe hypothermia. CPS member recipient stories vary from saving the lives of victims of gunshot wounds, slashings and suicide attempts, to the creation of a much needed Prenatal Support Team for at-risk moms and improving service to members of the public seeking police information checks. All of the award recipients have gone above and beyond to assist those in need and make Calgary a stronger community.

Details of a media availability with Calgary Police Chief Paul Cook will be sent in a separate advisory.
