Public Service Announcement: Check Your Smoke Alarms When You Set Your Clocks Ahead This Weekend

maltese cross

As the Calgary Fire Department has witnessed on many occasions, a working smoke alarm can be the difference between life and death. When you adjust your clocks this weekend, please take a few moments to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. All smoke alarms, whether battery operated or hardwired, should be tested monthly and replaced when they reach 10 years of age.

Be sure to remind your friends and family to do the same. Smoke alarms save lives.
