Housefire in Hawkwood
At approximately 1030PM on Sunday July 26th, 2026, the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to a possible house fire in the northwest community of Hawkwood. On arrival at the 200 block of Hawkstone Drive, crews encountered light smoke in the air and one person with injuries. On investigation, firefighters found a working fire in the rear of the single family detached home and a fire on the rear deck. Fire crews also found another person with injuries at the rear of the home.
The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished by crews on scene and the injured people were assessed and transported by EHS ambulances. The Calgary Police Service were quickly on scene and worked with crews to assess the cause of the fire. At this time the incident has been turned over to CPS for further investigation. Nine fire apparatus and over 20 firefighters were on scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
