N.E . Strip Mall Fire Extinguished By the Calgary Fire Department

At approximately 20:45 the Calgary fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from 1 unit of a multi unit strip mall in the 2700 block of 3^rd Avenue N.E. Initial arriving crews encountered heavy smoke and after a scene size up by the Incident Commander, an aggressive interior attack was initiated bringing the fire quickly under control. Positive pressure fans were employed on adjoining units to confine the fire to the unit of origin. There were no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
