Kensington Car Fire

At 5 PM tonight a car fire in Kensington cause the temporary evacuation of a 16 suite apartment building on Kensington Cr. NW approximately 12 occupants were forced to leave the building for about an hour while Calgary Firefighters extinguished the car and building fire.

The car was parked under a overhang of the building which caused the fire to spread to the structure. The construction on the building prevented the fire from gaining a foothold in the building until firefighters could put out the blaze. Fire crews are conducting an overhaul of the building and the cause of the fire is being investigated by Calgary Fire Investigators. There were no injuries and the tenants were allowed back into their suites after a short evacuation of their building.
