House Fire in Bowness

Calgary Firefighters were called out this morning shortly before 10:00 am for a report of smoke coming from a house. The single family home is located on the 8600 block of 34Ave. NW. As crews arrived smoke was observed coming from the rear of the home. The firefighters entered the home and attacked the fire in the basement. A search was done through out the home looking for potential victims. The search proved that no one was home at the time of the incident. The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
