Fire Department responses to a two alarm house fire in SW Calgary

At approx 8:30 this evening, the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to the 2800 block of 42 St SW. The first arriving crew noted smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single family dwelling. The crews quickly located the occupants of the house, who had safely self – evacuated from their home and confirmed that all family members were accounted for. A second alarm was struck and an aggressive interior attack contained the fire to the house of origin.  There was no damage to the adjacent houses. At the present time, crews are still on scene dealing with hot spots (overhauling the fire). Once the Overhauling is completed, the Fire Investigators will begin to identify the cause of the fire. One firefighter sustained a minor back injury at this fire, no other injuries occurred.
