Fire crews extinguish early morning kitchen fire

At approximately 5:30 this morning, the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from a single family residence in the 1000 block of 20 ave. N.W. First arriving crews were met by 4 male occupants that had self evacuated and indicated there was a fire in the kitchen. Fire crews rapidly extinguished a small kitchen fire. Fire damage was limited although there was substantial smoke damage throughout the building. AHS assessed two patients as a precaution. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
