Fire contained to a single bay in two alarm building fire in NE Calgary

At approximately 09:30 this evening the Calgary fire Department rolled out to a building fire on 12 St and 40 Ave NE. Prior to their arrival, due to the large volume of smoke and flames showing,  the responding Captain upgraded the call to a second alarm. A second alarm doubles the total number of responding apparatus. Upon arrival the crews found a single story, five bay industrial building.  Bay number four was fully involved with flames shooting into the air. The Fire Department quickly took a strong defensive position utilizing large volume water streams, foam and large gas powered fans. By employing these tactics, the fire was contained to the single bay. Due to the amount of damage caused by the fire, the roof in bay four collapsed upon itself. Currently there are still small amounts of flames flaring out from under the collapsed roof; for this reason a fire watch will be on scene for the remainder of the night. There were no injuries and the investigation into the cause has not started at this time.
