Calgary Fire Department Responds to a House Fire in Applewood

At approximately 7 pm on Monday, March 2, 2020, the Calgary Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 200 block of Appleglen PA SE. On arrival crews were met with a large volume of smoke and flames from the rear of a two story residence. Crews initiated a rapid attack on the fire and were able to contain the damage to the single residence. One occupant was able to self evacuate and there are no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Calgary Police Services, AHS, Enmax and ATCO were also on scene to assist.

Calgary Fire crews including a Fire investigator will remain to determine the cause and origin of the fire and to ensure that there is no fire extension.

The Calgary Fire Department reminds citizens that smoke and CO alarms help to save lives and would like to see them installed, maintained and regularly tested in all homes.
