Calgary Firefighters Respond to house fire

Calgary Firefighters responded to an early morning kitchen fire in the 6700 block of 26 ave NE Calgary. On their arrival fire crews found that the homeowners had extinguished a kitchen fire which had caused extensive damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house. The two occupants of the home also received minor burns to their hands and feet while battling the blaze. AHS treated and transport them to hospital while fire crews conducted overhaul operations in the home to ensure there was no further extension of the fire into the rest of the house and that it was completely extinguished. The cause is still under investigation.
