Calgary Firefighters extinguish Fire in Northwest

The Calgary Fire Department responded to a call for a house fire on the 1400 block of Nutana Place NW at 0930 pm this evening. Crews were confronted with heavy smoke as they entered one half of a side by side duplex. A fire was quickly located in a bedroom and extinguished. The fire was confined to the single room of the home. One adult male was home at the time of the fire but was able to self evacuate and was not injured. Fire investigators are now on scene to determine the cause.
