Calgary Fire Department Responds To N.E. Kitchen Fire

This evening, shortly before 6 O’clock, the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a kitchen fire in the 200 block of Madeira Close N.E. On arrival crews were met by the occupants who had self evacuated and stated that there had been a deep fryer fire in the kitchen. Using a dry chemical extinguisher one of the occupants had extinguished the fire prior to the Fire department arrival. Crews investigated, ventilated the structure and checked for hot spots during overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
