Calgary Fire Department fights house fire by utilizing large volume fans.

At approx. 11:30 this evening the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to a house fire on Willow Park Dr. SE. Due to the large volume of smoke and flames showing, a second alarm was called as a precaution. The first arriving crew confirmed that the occupants of the home were all safe and accounted for. They also discovered that the fire which had started in the back yard had entered the houses attic space through the eaves. The Fire Fighters utilized high volume gas fans too positively pressurize the home, the internal pressure created by these fans prevents the smoke and flames from entering the living area. Although the fire was contained to the attic the second story of the house did sustain some damage. There was no damage to the neighbouring houses and no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
