Calgary Fire Department Continues Bow and Elbow River Boating Advisory

 

The Calgary Fire Department would like to remind Calgarians that a boating advisory is still in effect for the Elbow and Bow Rivers. This advisory pertains to boating activities in any type of watercraft. The river conditions continue to be dangerous and pose an increased safety risk for anyone on either of the rivers.

 

Increased water flows will result in additional debris which is hazardous to anyone in a watercraft.

 

Citizens are also being advised to avoid going on or near the river banks as the fast-moving water may result in rapidly changing water levels and collapsing river banks. If you witness anyone in distress in or on the water, please call 9-1-1 immediately. We would like to emphasize that this is an advisory and is being put forth in the interest of public safety.
