Calgary Fire Department fights two alarm fire in NE

At Approximately 2:10 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department was called to the 2500 block of 38th Street NE for a building fire. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm upon fire crews' arrival based on the amount of visible flames as well as the size of the building. The lone occupant of the suite where the fire originated self evacuated safely, escaping injury. Fire crews worked quickly and were able to contain the fire to the suite of origin. Damage to the townhome is extensive and as a result, five adults are displaced. Firefighters now have the fire out and a fire investigator is on scene to determine origin and cause.
