Calgary Fire Crews Respond To Mobile Home Park Fire in Forest Lawn

At approximately 2:00 am this morning, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a structure fire at the Oasis Mobile Home Park.

Upon arrival, fire crews faced significant smoke and flames from multiple single family mobile homes. Firefighters quickly extended hand lines to control the fire initially from the exteriors as well as to protect neighboring exposures. Crews advanced lines into the interior of partially involved structures to initiate searches and continue fire attack. Two mobile homes were fully involved and two partially involved upon CFD’s arrival.

All residents self-evacuated prior to CFD’s arrival. Two cats are missing at this time.

CPS assisted and provided traffic and crowd control at scene. Atco and Enmax were dispatched and ensured there were no hazards relating to services. AHS attended the incident and assessed a number of residents on scene. A Calgary Transit bus provided shelter for displaced residents.

Fire crews including a fire investigator will remain on scene throughout the morning to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
