Calgary Fire Department responds to University Heights house fire

The Calgary Fire Department responded to a house fire at approximately 2:15 early Monday morning in the community of University Heights. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and crews remained on scene through the night inspecting for hot spots and any fire extension.

The house was struck by lightening as a storm passed through the area and sustained severe damage as a result. A nearby tree was also damaged. Two adult residents were not injured however are displaced as a result of the fire.  

A Calgary Fire Department fire investigator was on scene to investigate the fire and assess the extent of the damage.

Enmax attended the scene to ensure the safety of the utility service to the home.
