Two Alarm Fire In The S.E.

Shortly before 2:30 this afternoon the Calgary Fire Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of 42 street S.E. for reports of a building fire. The first arriving officer reported a well involved structure fire in one suite of a eight unit townhouse complex. An aggressive interior fire attack and simultaneous search for occupants was initiated. All occupants were accounted for and the fire was quickly briught under control with damage mainly confined to one suite and minor damage to an neighbouring suite. No injuries to occupants were reported,a pet cat was rescued and appeared uninjured, unfortunately two other pet cats did not survive the fire . The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
