Three alarm fire in SE Calgary

 

 

 

Today at 10:46 a.m.the Calgary Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 call, reporting a fire in one of the buildings at the 1600 block of 42nd avenue S.E. On arrival CFD fire crews saw heavy dark smoke and flames. The fire was upgraded to a three alarm fire. CFD aerial platforms have been defensively fighting the fire from several angles. 

Surrounding buildings were evacuated and no injuries or missing people have been reported. 

The building housed shingles and roofing materials. With the burning of those materials, the Calgary Fire Department are monitoring the air quaility.
