The Calgary Fire Department Responds to 2 Alarm Fire

At approximately 2:20 PM the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to reports of a house fire in the 200 block of Legacy MT SE. On arrival fire crews found one house under construction fully involved in smoke and fire and a second occupied home exposed to the fire. Due to the size of the fire a second alarm was called to ensure proper resources were on scene.

Fire crews began an aggressive fire attack and a search of the occupied home. The lone occupant had self evacuated prior to CFD arrival, no injuries were reported at the scene.

Calgary Police Services (CPS)  were on scene assisting residents and providing a safe barrier around the area. ATCO was also on scene to control the utilities involved.

Fire crews remain at the event dealing with hot spots and providing fire watch. The Calgary Fire Department Investigator is on scene working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
