N.W. strip mall fire update

Late this afternoon, the strip mall fire at the 1900 block of Uxebridge Drive N.W. was brought under control. A track hoe was brought in to bring down damaged parts of the building to allow firefighters better access to the difficult to reach fire. Fire crews continue to put out hot spots. Six businesses in total were damaged as a result of the fire. Two firefighters were transported to hospital for moderate injuries sustained during the firefighting effort. Fire investigators are on scene to determine the exact origin and cause.
