Multi Vehicle Incident on Northbound Deerfoot Trail

At approximately 3 this afternoon Calgary Fire Crews responded to northbound Deerfoot trail for reports of a multi vehicle accident. Fire crews were met with 6 passenger vehicles and a semi trailer carrying a load of gasoline that had been involved in the incident located between Mcknight Boulevard and the 64 Avenue exits. 1 Northbound lane is currently open. Fire crews performed a minor patient extrication on one of the vehicles and patient care was handed over to EMS. Some patients were transported by on scene EMS personnel. Cause of the incident is under investigation by the Calgary Police Service.
