Man Sent to Hospital after South East Apartment fire.

Calgary fire fighters were called out at 10:35 this evening for a fire alarm in the Meadowbrook apartments located at 13531 Deer Run Drive SE. The first arriving crew entered the apartment where the alarm was sounding and began a search to find the source. A unit on the main floor was identified using a thermal imaging camera as being unusually hot. The fire fighters entered the suite and contained a fire to the room of origin. One adult male was found outside the building in distress and was turned over to EMS staff. The 3 story apartment and the one next door were evacuated and ventilated as a precaution. Those evacuated were allowed to return to their units about an hour later. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
