Four injured in early morning crash

At approximately 1:00 this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to 52 St and 61 Ave SE for reports of a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, crews found 2 heavily damaged vehicles and 4 injured patients. Two of the patients, both males, were found conscious and breathing lying on the roadway. The other two, a man and woman, were found trapped inside their minivan by the force of the collision. Firefighters simultaneously treated the two male patients while extricating the man and the woman from the minivan. The man and woman were also conscious and breathing at the time. Fire crews then transferred patient care to waiting EMS personnel. All 4 were transported to the hospital by EMS crews. CPS is currently on scene investigating. The intersection of 52 St and 61 Ave SE remains closed at this time.
