Five Homes Evacuated due to Gas Leak in the North West.

Firefighters evacuated five homes on the 2200 block of Broadview Road NW. at 1:30 this afternoon. The call came in after a contractor severed a natural gas service line while doing renovations at one of the homes. That home and two on each side were evacuated as a precaution due to the escaping gas. Atco has been called to scene to dig up the line to make repaires. It is not know at this time how long it will take. Fire crews will remain on scene until the leak has been repaired.
