Firefighters Rescue Family Trapped in Elevator as Water Rises

 

At 08:30 this morning, the Calgary Fire Department was called to a condominium building on 10th street and 11th avenue for a report of people trapped in an elevator.  Upon arrival, fire crews discovered a burst pipe on a higher floor causing water to enter the elevator. Two adults and a toddler were trapped inside.  Fire crews responded quickly and rescued the family. Firefighters stopped the flow of water and are currently removing water from the building.
