Fire In Research Laboratory

At 11:00 p.m.this evening the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 2500 block of University Drive N.W. for reports of a building fire. First arriving crews were met by on site security personnel who reported a fire on the fourth floor of a research laboratory. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure ,and fire crews investigated the area of concern. Evidence of a fire that had burnt itself out was located and crews used the buildings ventilation system to remove a large volume of smoke. No injuries were reported and crews continue to monitor air quality inside the building. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
