Fire destories garage in Whitehorn

January 05 at 3:20 AM Calgary Fire crews responded to a garage fire at 4812 Whitehorn Drive NE. on arrival CFD found a 2 car garage totally involved with a car inside the garage. The quick action of the Fire crews knocked down the fire in the garage and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding houses. There was some damage to the siding of the occupants home but it did not extend into the structure. The fire caused about $40,000.00 damage to the property and there were two people home at the time of the fire, neither were injured and both were allowed to return home once the house was deemed safe for them to reenter. Nine pieces of apparatus with twenty-four firefighters initially responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
