Fire Crews Respond To Two Alarm Fire In Beddington

Just before noon today, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to the 8300 block of Centre St N for reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, CFD crews were faced with a fully involved single family home with strong winds forcing flames toward a neighboring home.

Shortly after arriving, a second alarm was struck by CFD to ensure adequate resources on scene.

Crews quickly worked to extinguish the main body of flames as well as protect exposures and limit extension on either side of the home where the fire originated. A thorough search of all affected residences confirmed that no people were inside.

Four residents from the source home and two residents plus their dog from the exposure home have been displaced and are being assessed and assisted by a fire investigator on scene to determine needs.

The fire is under control at this time and crews are remaining on scene to ensure full extinguishment.

Cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
