Early Morning Fire Destroys Garage and Motor home

This morning, just after 3 am, Calgary Fire Department crews responded to reports of large volumes of smoke and flame visible from the rear of a residence in the 4000 block of 29 Avenue NW. On arrival crews encountered a fully involved garage and motor home which was stored on a parking pad adjacent to the garage. Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control but not before the fire completely destroyed both. There was some extension to a neighbouring garage but damage was limited to the exterior. Residents were temporarily evacuated as a precaution and have been allowed to reoccupy their homes. There were no reports of injuries and the investigation into the cause is underway.
