City responds to heavy rainfall

A significant thunderstorm moved through Calgary early this evening.
 
Heavy rainfall resulted in some flooding of underpasses and localized flooding in some neighbour hoods.
 
City crews are on scene to assess the situation and determine what actions can be taken to minimize the impact. City of Calgary Water Services continues to monitor river flows.
 
Weather forecasts indicate that additional rain is possible throughout the evening . By midnight, it is anticipated the showers will become fairly isolated. No weather warnings or watches are currently in effect for the city of Calgary.
 
Residents experiencing collections of water are asked to please use caution and reminded to not attempt to drive through pools of standing water as they may be difficult to gage how deep they are.
