Car Impacts House in Woodbine

Shortly after 5:00pm this evening the Calgary Fire Department was called to the 100 block of Woodbine Boulevard S.W.. for reports of a motor vehicle colliding with a house. First arriving crews found a late model SUV that had left the road surface and impacted the side of a home.The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was transported to an area hospital by Alberta Health Services in non life threatening condition  Luckily no one inside the home was injured and Calgary Fire Heavy Rescue team members have mitigated the damage to the home and allowed the occupants to remain in the home while awaiting repairs. Traffic was not impacted during this event and Calgary Police Service remain on scene conducting their investigation. The Calgary Fire Department urges motorist to exercise caution while driving on city streets as the sub zero temperatures have made the road surfaces icy in areas.
